TicketCrew vs Ticket Tool

What each one gives you for free, where Ticket Tool is ahead, and the limits TicketCrew has. Checked against both sites.

The short version

Ticket Tool is long established and widely used. Its free plan covers the basics, and Premium adds claiming, automation, direct messages and full customisation for $7.99 a month.

TicketCrew is newer and free with no paid plan, so everything it does is available to every server, including automatic transcripts. In exchange it has fewer features than Ticket Tool Premium, and a credit line you cannot remove.

Where Ticket Tool is ahead

  • Track record. It is one of the best-known ticket bots and has been around for years. TicketCrew is new.
  • Claiming, so a staff member can take a ticket and the team can see who has it. TicketCrew does not have it.
  • Saved replies as custom tags, and automation that closes or deletes old tickets on Premium.
  • Customisation. Premium removes character limits on its messages and lets you change reactions. TicketCrew's messages are designed for you, with less to change.
  • No panel limit. TicketCrew stops at 50 panels and 7 kinds of ticket per server, which is plenty for most servers but not for all.

Where TicketCrew is ahead

  • Nothing is behind a paywall. Unlimited tickets and automatic transcripts are free; on Ticket Tool both are Premium.
  • Transcripts on the website, searchable by staff and downloadable as HTML, text or JSON.
  • Fewer tickets in the first place. Knowledge base articles are offered before a ticket opens, and the dashboard shows how often they answered the question.
  • Reminders when a first reply is running late, posted in the ticket and pinging the roles you choose, if you set a response time.
  • Plain explanations of permissions. Every permission is justified before you add it, and /ticketcrew permissions names any that are missing.

Which to choose

If your team relies on claiming, saved replies or automatic clean-up, and paying $7.99 a month is fine, Ticket Tool Premium does more today.

If you want a ticket system that costs nothing, keeps transcripts without a subscription and is set up on a website rather than through commands, TicketCrew is worth ten minutes. You can run both in the same server while you decide: each only answers its own panels. The setup is in How to set up a free Discord ticket bot.
